Description:
Every year the Standing Committee on Professionalism presents the E. Smythe Gambrell Professionalism Awards to recognize projects contributing to the understanding of professionalism among lawyers. As enunciated in the ABA publication, Promoting Professionalism, pro bono service is a component of professionalism. Each year thousands of lawyers and law students take part in professionalism programs partially funded or inspired by the Gambrell awards and apply the lessons they learn in these programs to pro bono activities in their communities.
Volunteers and Cases:
The Committee has seven members, but the Committee does not seek to involve lawyers in direct projects or create local projects.
