NAPBPro - National Association of Pro Bono Professionals
NAPBPro is an independent organization of pro bono professionals. Because its work is so closely allied with that of the ABA Center for Pro Bono, the ABA has provided this web space for its use.
Created in 1987, NAPBPro is the only national organization devoted to promoting pro bono services to the poor and the professional development of pro bono managers and professionals and others interested in this field

We were honored to present our annual awards; Congratulations goes out to Steve Scudder the recipient of the William Reese Smith Award. We are pleased to be able to continue to offer each year to deserving persons our scholarships. This year the two Hanna Cohn Scholarship recipients were Scott Douglas of Olympia, Washington and Celia Mansaray of North Carolina; congratulations go out to both of them. Congratulation also goes to the recipient of the Tanya Neiman Pro Bono Professional of the Year Award, David Ackerly of Los Angeles.
Our 20th Celebration was a big success and we thank everyone involved and hope you had a wonderful time!!! Thanks to all of the organizations and individuals who contributed to the success of our Silent Auction.
At this time, I take great pleasure in welcoming our newly elected members to the Executive Committee; Lisa Lendo, from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Pete Fierro, from Midland, Texas. I also extend a welcome to our new committee members and we look forward to your cooperation and sharing of ideas and concerns.
NAPBPro is working on promoting membership by allowing members enrollment through online services. We recruited new members and encourage our old members to continue to renew their memberships. We encourage you to use the list server to communicate with other coordinators and the Executive Committee. We also encourage everyone who has constructive information or interesting stories that you feel would help other coordinators with projects in their communities to place them on the list serve. The Executive Committee along with our members is here to assist you with legal and general information.
One of the goals of NAPBPro for 2007 is to work in conjunction with Legal Services Corporation and the Bar Association to coordinate a new Disaster Response Role for Pro Bono Coordinators. This program will allow members in our organization to provide legal and general assistance in the disaster affected areas. Secondly, we would welcome members to work and participate in our on going committees such as the Nominating, Program and Membership Committee.
