

Center for Pro Bono Email Discussion Lists
There are several thousand email discussion lists sponsored by the American Bar Association, some of them public and others internal. The following nine discussion lists are managed by staff on behalf of the Standing Committee for Pro Bono and Public Service and the Center for Pro Bono.
A Business Commitment (ABC) Pro Bono List
The Business Law Section, through its ABC project (A Business Commitment) maintained the ABC listserve since August 2001. This discussion list focused on the issues of pro bono service in the business law community. In August of 2005, the Center adopted this listserve (now renamed the PB-ABC_PROBONO listserve) and pulled in its archived discussions.

The ABA Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service is excited to announce plans for the first annual National Pro Bono Celebration. Scheduled for October 25 through 31, 2009, the National Pro Bono Celebration is designed to be a coordinated national effort to showcase the incredible difference that pro bono lawyers make to our nation, to our system of justice, to our communities and, most of all, to the clients they serve. Join this community to be kept up-to-date on planning for the 2009 National Pro Bono Celebration.

The Foreclosure Pro Bono ListServ list is intended to provide an open discussion forum for those involved in providing or arranging for pro bono assistance to homeowners in distress. This list is for persons who administer pro bono foreclosure assistance or pro bono foreclosure prevention programs.

Faith Based Legal Services List
Faith based organizations are increasingly becoming a vital component in the provision of legal assistance to low income persons. Pro bono organizations are becoming more aware of the financial, volunteer, and leadership resources available through faith based groups. The Center for Pro Bono hosts a listserve dedicated to discussing the common issues of faith based resources in the delivery of legal assistance.

Law Firm Pro Bono Practice Leaders List
Provides a forum for discussion about the pro bono coordinator's or the chair of the pro bono committee's roles, initiatives, challenges, successes and any other topics relevant to the management and coordination of law firm pro bono programs including: (1) pro bono policies, generally; (2) the structure and organization of firm programs; and (3) internal and external communication about pro bono activities.
