Description: The Rose State College Legal Assistant
Program is a two-year program that provides practical training
in legal skills supported by substantive legal theory. It was
the first such program in Oklahoma and has been approved by the
ABA since 1976. Instruction and assignments are practical in nature
to prepare the student for a career as a legal assistant. Current
technology is integrated into the coursework to increase the graduate's
marketability. Ethical responsibility is emphasized to equip the
graduate to meet the ethical challenges of the workplace.

Description: The University of Oklahoma Law Center has been training
students since 1968 for employment in law-related occupations
in law firms, corporations, banks, governmental agencies, the
judiciary, and social-service organizations. The curriculum stresses
understanding and reasoning, rather than rote learning of facts
and information. The program's unusual structure of Saturday classes
allows students to earn the certificate while employed or attending
school.
