Description: Students can complete the degree or certificate with day or evening classes and can choose how many courses to take each semester. The certificate (for students with 5 years prior legal work experience or college degree) takes 36 semester hours to complete; students without prior legal experience or a degree can take a 60-semester hour degree program. The paralegal program coordinator and faculty provide academic advising and assistance with job placement in the program.

Description: The Paralegal Studies Program offers a 30-semester credit hour certification program and an Associate of Applied Science degree for students interested in Management and Human Resources. In addition, a transfer option is available for students pursuing a Bachelor's degree. Core courses include Legal Research, Legal Writing, Litigation, Contracts, Torts, Criminal Law, and Introduction to Law. A variety of electives, including mediation, property law, constitutional law, and current issues, are included in course of study for paralegal students. Internships are encouraged for those not working in a legal setting. They require 135 hours of supervised work experience for completion.

Description: Denver Career College, formerly Denver Paralegal Institute, was founded in 1977 and received ABA approval in 1979. Our day program can be completed in six months, including the externship, and the evening program in eleven months. We offer career placement assistance for all graduates for initial and subsequent jobs, all at no cost to students or employers. We use practicing attorneys to teach in our classes, all of which blend legal theory with hands-on applications skills training. We offer both Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis access at no charge to students.

Description: The Paralegal/Legal Assistant program at Pikes Peak Community College is designed to train students for employment as paralegals in a variety of legal settings, provide opportunities for students who wish to upgrade existing job skills, and provide coursework and transfer information to students who are interested in continuing their education. Students will be taught to perform basic legal research, draft various legal documents, conduct client and witness interviews, participate in basic fact-finding and investigation, and assist attorneys in trial preparation.
