Operation Enduring LAMP
Mobilizing Bar Associations to Provide Legal Help for Military Personnel/Reservists
| Military - Overview of LAMP Operation Standby Assistance |
|
The ABA, in response to a request from the Armed Forces, has created this web site as a central resource center. Bar Associations throughout the nation have been asked to organize civilian attorney pro bono programs to stand ready to assist military legal assistance offices in serving deployed and mobilized military personnel. Bar Associations have been asked to "register" their military assistance pro bono programs standing ready to assist in the current reservist mobilization effort. All civilian attorneys working through bar programs listed in this directory have volunteered as part of a bar association effort, either state or local, and they have agreed to offer their services on a pro bono basis to deployed or mobilized personnel or their family members. Please note that as part of this process all attorneys volunteering their services were alerted to the need to familiarize themselves with USERRA, SSCRA, and SGLI. This, however, should not be taken as a guarantee that each individual attorney is expert in these key provisions. If you have any questions about the listings for any bar associations, please contact the ABA Standing Committee on Legal Assistance for Military Personnel by sending an e-mail to jnosbisch@staff.abanet.org |
