Pre-Conference Want-Ads

Is there is a particular business connection you want to make at the conference? Do you have a burning question that only someone from similar circumstances can answer? We’ve created a pre-conference Want-Ad opportunity just for you!

The purpose of the want-ads is to connect folks at the conference who are looking to develop a particular relationship (business relationship!) either at the conference or outside in real life, or who could really benefit from getting one-on-one advice from another conference attendee. You tell us what/who you are looking for, and we’ll match you up! Some examples of want-ads include:

• First time pro bono program attendee seeking veteran EJC’er for schmoozing, introductions, and just general help with not feeling so clueless and overwhelmed by conference offerings.
• Mid-size law firm attorney seeking others to discuss how building a pro bono program in a mid-size firm is different from what happens in large firms.
• State court administrator seeking same for discussion regarding self-help center development.

SEEKERS: If you are interested in posting a want-ad, please complete this online form. Ads will be posted on a public bulletin board. No personal identifying information will be shared publicly. We will then match responders with the person who originally made the inquiry, and provide each party with the other’s contact information.

Pre-Conference “Expert” Ads

Are you a conference veteran or a newbie with expertise in a particular area? Do you want to pass your acquired wisdom onto others? We’ve created a pre-conference Expert opportunity just for you!

The purpose of the expert-ads is to offer yourself up as sage counsel to another conference attendee who could really benefit from your advice. You tell us what your particular area of expertise is, and we’ll match you up! Some examples of expert-ads include:

• Judge offering insight into strategies most likely to engage reluctant bench members in encouraging and supporting pro bono .
• Law firm coordinator offering advice about how to best “woo” firms with pro bono project proposals or partnerships.
• Pro Bono Director in NYC willing to provide information about pro bono opportunities in the NYC area. .

If you are interested in posting an expert ad, please complete this online form. “Expert” ads and people matching will be handled in the same manner as the want-ads.

The deadline for posting want-ads and “expert” ads is April 28, 2008.

Responding to Want Ads

RESPONDERS: If you are interested in responding to a want-ad browse them here. Check them out and, if you think you have some expertise to offer the “poster” just respond to the ad per the site’s instructions. The individual parties should connect in advance and set up a time to meet at the conference. We will not be responsible for matching people other than the initial “meet and greet” of providing individuals with the appropriate contact information.
