  2009 Louis M. Brown Awards Presented at ABA Midyear Meeting
The Standing Committee on the Delivery of Legal Services has selected the Virtual Courthouse.com to receive the 2009 Louis M. Brown Award for Legal Access. Three additional programs will receive meritorious recognition: The Community Legal Resources Network at CUNY; the law firm Heisler, Feldman, McCormick and Garrow, PC; and Have Justice Will Travel. The Awards were presented at the joint luncheon of the NCPB and NABE at the Midyear Meeting on February 13th.

  New FDIC Rule Affects Insurance on IOLTA Accounts
On November 21, 2008, the FDIC adopted a final rule in which the category of non-interest bearing transaction accounts includes IOLTA and functionally equivalent accounts, and provides for unlimited insurance for such accounts held in participating financial institutions through December 31, 2009.
