 Labor and Employment Law

Employment Rights & Responsibilities Committee Midwinter Meeting

Royal Sonesta Hotel
New Orleans, Louisiana
March 27-31, 2007

ADVANCED ONLINE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. To register for the meeting, please complete the registration form and fax to 312/988-5814.

Please note: After advanced registration closes, your name may not appear on the meeting attendee roster. A manually produced name badge will be provided at the meeting check-in.

It has been barely a year since Hurricane Katrina and yet, emulating its evolving iconoclastic musical traditions, with roots in jazz, rhythm and blues, Cajun and Zydeco, New Orleans has improvised, persevered and emerged as simultaneously familiar and strikingly different-a city where one can still find rich history as well as a melting pot of new sights, sounds, colors and flavors.

In March 2007, this remarkable city will be the site of the ABA Section of Labor and Employment Law's Employment Rights and Responsibilities Committee Midwinter Meeting. We would like to invite you to join the many other attorneys from across the country and abroad who will be gathering to experience the culture of New Orleans and offer invaluable insights on cutting edge legal issues in the area of labor and employment law. The program will follow a special day of skills training on Tuesday March 27, 2007-a one-day institute to teach practitioners the skills necessary to successfully try employment law cases. Separate registration is required for this valuable course. Beginning on March 28, 2007 and consistent with the diversity that defines New Orleans, ERR will offer attendees multiple perspectives on labor and employment law from management, union, employee and public law counsel. The attached program details the sessions that will address a wide range of employment law issues, from Internet blogging to identity theft, e-discovery, Generation X and Y trends in jury selection, and much more. Of course, a meeting in New Orleans would be nothing if time were not available for dining, dancing and experiencing the transcendent grace and resilience of those who call New Orleans home and give the city its pulse. As a result, accommodations will be at the spectacular Royal Sonesta Hotel in the heart of New Orleans' French Quarter. Intermixed with the programs, we will offer special tours and activities, plus an opportunity to offer your hand in efforts to rebuild and reinvigorate the soul of a city that has been and will be a cultural center for years to come.

On behalf of the ERR family, we hope that you will make plans to join us in New Orleans for the 2007 Midwinter Meeting.
