Dear Colleagues:

The Committee on the Development of the Law Under the NLRA is holding its 37th annual Midwinter Meeting at the Hotel del Coronado in Coronado, California. The meeting will feature well-prepared presenters, excellent papers and timely topics in a great location.

The program will begin on Monday, March 2 and continue through Wednesday, March 4 with presentations on such topics as:

  • The “Witty Diversities” – Surprising Contradictions in Labor Law
  • The Continuing Battle Over Discrimination: Salmon Run Shopping Center and Guard Publishing Company
  • Employee Disloyalty and the Mixed Reception in Appellate Courts for the Board’s Decisions Under Jefferson Standard
  • “R” case review, “C” case review, and enforcement litigation review
  • The NLRB’s new proposed ethics rules
  • The NLRB, the courts and the continuing debate over contract coverage vs. clear and unmistakable waiver

The highlight of the program will be the presentations by the General Counsel, Chairman and Members of the National Labor Relations Board. This is a program you won’t want to miss.

This is an opportunity not only to get a break from winter, but also to discuss with knowledgeable practitioners the issues faced by the Board, the practical implications of their decisions and issues yet to be addressed. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to meet and speak informally with the highest ranking officials from the NLRB. It will also be the opportunity to renew old friendships and make some new friends.
