Technology in the Practice & Workplace Committee

Dear Colleague:
The ABA Technology in the Practice and Workplace Committee is holding its 2008 Midyear Meeting at the American Bar Center in Chicago, Illinois. Following a Welcome Reception on April 30, general sessions will be held Thursday and Friday, May 1 and 2. The Program Agenda is available online and includes the following topics:
1. TECHNOLOGY IN THE WORKING WORLD, including international employee privacy issues and employment issues related to the virtual world.
2. TECHNOLOGY FOR THE LITIGATOR, including use of electronic evidence at trial, recent significant decisions interpreting the new Federal Rules, and document management and retention issues in the electronic world.
3. TECHNOLOGY FOR THE PRACTITIONER, including use of technology by agencies in labor and employment cases, the Register Guard decision, measuring the effectiveness of electronic document review process, and technology and legal ethics.
A block of rooms has been reserved for the meeting at the Hotel Amalfi, 20 West Kinzie (www.amalfihotelchicago.com/index.cfm?group=000037608 ~ 312-395-9000). The special group rates for this program are $204 for single occupancy and $225 for double occupancy. Please make your reservations by April 1, 2008 to receive these special rates.
