Midwinter Meeting Naples Grande Resort & Club Naples, Florida February 20-23, 2008

Dear Colleagues:

We are pleased to announce that the Committee on Practice & Procedure Under the NLRA will be holding its 2008 Midwinter Meeting at the Naples Grande Resort & Club in Naples, Florida (www.naplesgranderesort.com). General sessions will be held Wednesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There will be a special breakfast for first-time attendees and NLRB representatives on Wednesday morning. A Welcome Reception will be held on Wednesday, February 20 at the resort. The Golf Tournament will take place on Thursday, February 21 immediately following the morning session. A Dinner Party will be held on Thursday, February 21, the cost of which is included in the meeting and spouse/guest registration fees.

The Naples Grande Resort & Club is a full-service destination resort nestled upon 23 acres of Southwest Florida's Paradise Coast in the heart of Naples. The Naples Grande Resort & Club offers luxurious guestrooms and suites, acclaimed recreational amenities including a new pool complex complete with private cabanas and Mangrove Mountain waterslide, award-winning dining, supervised children's programs, outstanding conference facilities, and championship golf at Naples Grande Golf Club.

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Naples Grande Resort & Club with a group rate of $329 for Gulf View Tower Rooms (single or double occupancy). The group rate will be honored based on availability three days prior and three days after the meeting dates. The reservation deadline for the group rate is January 17, 2008. After this date or once our group block has been consumed, the rate will be subject to availability. Cancellations must be made 7 days prior to the scheduled date of arrival to avoid a one-night cancellation charge. Reservations may be made by calling the hotel directly at 800/247-9810. Be certain to mention that you are attending the “ABA Section of Labor & Employment Law Midwinter Meeting” to receive the special group rates.

In addition, a block of rooms has been reserved at the nearby Hilton Naples. The group rate is $245 (single or double occupancy). To reserve a room at the Hilton Naples, call the hotel directly at 239/430-4900 and refer to the “ABA Section of Labor & Employment Law Midwinter Meeting.” The cut-off date for reservations at the group rate is January 7, 2008 (or once the group block has been filled). Cancellations must be made 7 days prior to the scheduled date of arrival to avoid a one-night cancellation charge.

The registration fee for the meeting is $395 for Section members and $450 for non-members. The registration fee for guests is $175 ($75 for children 12-18). We also are offering a reduced registration fee of $295 for first-time attendees. In addition, special joint registration fees are available should you decide to also attend the Committee on Development of the Law Under the NLRA Midwinter Meeting, which will be held at the Naples Grande Resort & Club on February 17-20. The registration fees cover meeting materials, scheduled meal functions, CLE accreditation, and other costs that are involved in producing this program. Please note that all spouses and guests must pay the registration fee if they will attend the social events.

Refunds of your registration fee, less a $50 administrative fee, will be given for written cancellations received in the Section Office by February 11. No cancellations will be processed after February 11.

The Naples Grande Resort is located 40 minutes from the Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW), which is serviced by American, American Eagle, United Express, Continental Express, America West Express, Delta Connection/Skywest and Alaska Airlines. Required sponsor documentation will be forwarded to and credit requested from MCLE states with general requirements for all lawyers. Each state determines the number of hours to be credited for attendance. Uniform Certificates of Attendance will be available at the meeting.
