Law Students Earn Awards for Coordinating Labor and Employment Law Programs
The Section is pleased to announce that Jennifer Froehlich and Jim Fletcher have been selected to receive its 2006-07 Special Recognition Awards for their assistance coordinating Labor and Employment Law Section presentations at their respective law schools, DePaul University College of Law and the University of Georgia School of Law. Each award recipient will receive a $250 travel voucher from the LEL Section.
Ms. Froehlich, in addition to assisting DePaul's Law School and ABA Outreach Coordinator Ryan Hagerty to organize the outreach program, recently authored an article that was published in The Labor Lawyer concerning the threat of bankruptcy as an 8(a) (1) violation. She was a labor law student of DePaul's Professor Morrison Torrey.
Mr. Fletcher is a recent graduate of the University of Georgia Law School where he assisted ABA LEL Outreach Coordinator John Beasley in organizing a very successful outreach program at UGA.
Both Ms. Froehlich and Mr. Fletcher plan to continue their activities in Labor and Employment Law as young lawyers and we hope they will continue to be active with the LEL Section.
The Section’s Law School Outreach Program is designed to bring experienced labor and employment law practitioners to various law schools on a periodic basis so that law students have an opportunity to meet with practitioners and discuss the benefits of being active Section members as well as obtain information about the practice of labor and employment law. Students interested in having such a program at their law school should contact Tracey Moore at the Section Office at mooret@staff.abanet.org.
