II. EMPLOYEE EDUCATION

Ensure that all non-judicial employees receive comprehensive training on the importance of diversity and maintenance of a workplace free of racial and ethnic bias.

ACTION STEPS

II(a)

In order to maintain a workplace free of racial and ethnic bias, implement a curriculum of mandated courses for court staff with courses such as EEO compliance, sexual harassment, HIV and diversity, such as the program sponsored by the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Minority Concerns.

 

II(b)

Develop a Supreme Court committee to monitor the hiring and firing of employees.

 

II(c) Develop and maintain a database to track employee and applicant information in the courts (demographic data, education, and applicant pool) to assist in the effort to increase the number of minority applicants.
