Past Events

On July 15, 2008 the Standing Committee on Minorities in the Judiciary presented Achieving a Diverse Judiciary and its Impact On Public Confidence in the Judicial System. This teleconference brought together judges, lawyers and others interested in increasing diversity in the judiciary. Speakers addressed difficult and complex issues confronted by lawyers of color, who aspire to become State and Federal Administrative Law Judges, State and Federal Appellate Judges and State and Federal Trial Judges through both the election and appointment process.

The Standing Committee on Minorities in the Judiciary addressed issues confronted by minority lawyers who aspire to become judges at all levels of the judiciary through the elected, appointed and nominations process. The program provided insightful information into the judicial selection process. Participants gained a better understanding as to how the process works.
