2005 Report on Appellate Pro Bono Programs: The Pro Se-Pro Bono Committee of the
Council of Appellate Lawyers (CAL) gathered information
from appellate courts around the country to produce this report which includes: 1) a discussion of the issues raised by
pro se participation in the appellate process, 2) the
practical benefits that can be realized from volunteering
to take pro bono appeals, and 3) a summary of the information
received from state and federal appellate courts.
Directory of Appellate Central Staff Counsel: The 2005-06 Directory of Appellate Central Staff Counsel
is now available for download. Access to the directory
is available to CASA members only as a benefit of council

The Council of Appellate Staff Attorneys (CASA), part of the Judicial Division's Appellate Judges Conference (AJC), is a nationwide network of over 150 state and federal appellate court attorneys.
CASA is devoted to the professional development of appellate court attorneys and the exchange of information about state and federal appellate courts and procedures. The Council sponsors and develops continuing legal education seminars and promotes the use and enhanced visibility of appellate court attorneys, and examines and fosters discussions on proposals for improvement of the appellate courts.
CASA is committed to insuring the highest quality possible in all sponsored programs and publications, to extending services and opportunities for involvement to appellate court attorneys throughout the appellate court system and to enhancing quality and integrity of the appellate process.
