The tragic events of September 11, 2001 and their aftermath have affected all aspects of our lives. In the past few weeks, many employees have been called to active military duty, at home or abroad. This call-up raises questions for plan sponsors about the effect of this military service on their employee benefit plans and for the reservist employees regarding the rights and responsibilities they have under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA), as amended by the Small Business Job Protection Act of 1996 (SBJPA). This teleconference will focus on key issues affecting plan sponsors and reservists.
