Environmental Justice
- Supports adequate federal efforts to assist in the settlement
of longstanding Indian water right claims. Co-sponsored
by the Section of Individual Rights and Responsibilities.
Approved as revised August 2002
- Urges legislation to encourage environmental equality so that
a disproportionate share of the burden of environmental harm does
not fall on minorities and/or low-income populations. Jointly
presented with the Standing Committee on Environmental Law, the
Commission on Homelessness and Poverty, the National Bar Association,
and the Hispanic National Bar Association.

- Supports federal legislation minimizing the impact of federal
management of lands containing specific sites historically used
by Native Americans for religious purposes.
