Environmental Justice Committee

About the Committee Leadership

Nicholas Targ, Chair, is the Counsel to the Office of Environmental Justice, US EPA, where he is the principal legal/policy advisor to the Office.  Prior to joining EPA he represented the Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Reclamation, in the Office of Solicitor, Department of the Interior, working on natural resource, environmental, and tribal issues.
Veronica Eady, Vice Chair, is the Director of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Environmental Justice and Brownfields Program.  Ms. Eady also teaches environmental law and policy at Tufts University.  She also Chairs the NEJAC Waste and Facility Siting Sub-Committee, and serves on the NEJAC Executive Committee.
Eileen Gauna, Vice Chair, is Professor of Law at Southwestern School of Law. Professor Gauna recently published the first environmental justice law case book.  She also Chairs the National Environmental Justice Committee (NEJAC), Air and Waste Sub-Committee, and serves on the NEJAC Executive Council.
Mary O'Lone, Vice Chair, is Director of the Lawyer's Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, Environmental Justice Project, advocating on behalf of communities facing environmental justice issues and commenting on policy.  Prior to joining the Lawyers' Committee, Ms. O'Lone was Assistant General Counsel for Title VI issues at the US EPA and Deputy Director of EPA's Office of Civil Rights.
Quentin Pair, Vice Chair, is a Trial Attorney with the United States Department of Justice, Environment and Natural Resources Division.  Mr. Pair has litigated environment and natural resources cases in Federal and State court for over twenty years.  He also Chairs the Federal Environmental Justice Interagency Working Group's Native American Task Force.
Benjamin Wilson, Vice Chair, is a Principal in the law firm of Beveridge and Diamond Washington, D.C. office. He is a former member of the Firm's Management Committee and past Chairperson of the Firm's Litigation Practice Group. He has over 20 years of federal and state trial and appellate work in the public and private sector.
