Business and Human Rights Resource Center: The organization is global and looks into allegations of corporate misconduct in regards to labour, environmental, discrimination, and poverty among other issues. The organization directly contacts corporations in question in order to gain have an unbiased perspective. The Organization of American States
The Organization of American States is an international organization consisting of nations in the western hemisphere. The OAS' primary goal is to encourage and strengthen democracy and deal with regional issues, such as poverty, drugs and human rights. The OAS has four official languages (Spanish, French, Portuguese and English) and will soon be accepting applications for interns for the summer and upcoming fall. Businness Leaders Initiative on Human Rights
The BLIHR (Businness Leaders Initiative on Human Rights) was initially founded in 2003 as a means for the corporate world to address human rights issues. Initially intended to be a three year program ending in 2006, it has been extended for another three years. The organization consists of twelve corporate members. Business for Social Responsibility (BSR)
Since 1992, Business for Social Responsibility (BSR) has collaborated with over 250 companies in order to advance business strategies that lead to sustainable and just world. The BSR pursues this policy primarily via consulting, researching, and cross sector collaboration. The organization has six offices worldwide. The Social Investment Forum
The Social Investment Forum is the only member association in the US whose goal is to further environmentally sound investment. The SIF realizes its goal via providing various conferences for members, public education, as well as research and publication. Using business as a means for positive change in the world, Net Impact is a worldwide organization with over 10,000 members. Some of the organizations myriad activities are conferences and pushing for small scale, yet effective green policies in the work place and campuses. Global Reporting Initiative works worldwide to enhance corporate sustainability via promoting a combination of transparency and accountability. Transparency International
Transparency International strives to combat corruption worldwide through policy research and in depth analysis. Transparency International was founded in 1993, and now has over 90 chapters worldwide. The organization in non partisan politically, and works within countries to reduce corruption via collaborating and encouraging dialogue among important players in politics, business, the media, and civil society.
