Book Proposal Information
The Section will consider only serious and marketable projects for publication. All editors and authors of Section publications must make a commitment to supply a complete and thoroughly edited manuscript. All manuscript compilation, editing, and proofreading must be completed prior to submitting it to the Section for review.
If You Have an Idea for a Publication . . .
1. Contact your Divisional Chair to discuss the idea.
2. Conduct conference call with Divisional Chair and Publications Board Chair to discuss a proposal as well as any other Section guidelines for "getting published."
3. Complete the Publications Proposal Form and submit one copy to Salli Swartz, Publications Board Chair. Careful consideration should be given to this proposal form. It is what the Section uses to formulate a budget and a production schedule for publications.
4. If the Publications Board decides to accept the proposal, it requests a completed manuscript.
5. Once the completed manuscript is submitted and accepted, the Publications Board submits a budget to the Administration Committee at the next Section Meeting. Note: no budgets will be submitted until a completed manuscript has been received and accepted.
Once the Administration Committee approves a budget, the project has been fully accepted by the Section and production can begin.
