GENERAL INFORMATION

REFUND POLICY

  • Cancellations must be made in writing and received by the Section office by September 5, 2008 for a full refund of fees, less a $100 administration fee.  No refund of registration or fee for a ticketed event will be granted after that date except in the case of medical emergency or extenuating circumstances approved by the Section in its sole discretion.
  • When a completed registration form and payment have been submitted to the Section office either by mail or fax, the registration is considered to be a firm commitment and you will be expected to pay the registration and any ticketed event fees, unless a written cancellation is received as set forth above.
  • Individuals may re-sell their purchased tickets by using the meeting bulletin board, unless the ticket is indicated to be “non-transferable.”

FALL MEETING HOTEL

The Brussels Hilton, Boulevard de Waterloo 38, 1000 Brussels, Belgium has reserved a limited block of rooms until September 2, 2008 at the special low rates of €225 per night for Deluxe (queen sized beds), €260 for Deluxe Plus (queen sized beds), €325 for Executive (King sized beds), and €460 for Suite. REGISTRATIONS/EARLY BIRD DISCOUNTS

Registrations must be postmarked no later than August 22, 2008 to receive the early bird discount.  Registrations must be received by the Section office by September 5th for registrants to be included in the List of Attendees.


MANDATORY CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION CREDIT (MCLE)

Accreditation has been requested for the 2008 Fall Meeting programs by the ABA MCLE Division from every state with general mandatory continuing legal education requirements for all lawyers admitted in that state.  In addition, accreditation has been request from the Law Society of England and Wales and will be sought from the Brussels Bar Association.  All appropriate paperwork will be available at the Registration DeskWe will be informing you at a later date whether this meeting will be offered for credit to New York “Transitional attorneys,” “Non-Transitional attorneys” or both. 

AIRLINE INFORMATION
You are encouraged to make your airline reservations on the newly launched ABA Online Travel site where you automatically receive ABA airfare discounts from a variety of carriers and can view and purchase other low fare options including web fares.  Simply visit www.abanet.org/travel .

DRESS CODE
For the 2008 Fall Meeting, business casual and business attire are both appropriate.

SPONSORSHIP/EXHIBIT/COOPERATING ORGANIZATION AREA
