Greetings to all members of the ABA Section of Intellectual Property Law (ABA-IPL):

I am writing to invite you to become actively involved or continue your involvement in the work of our committees – and join the leadership of our Section. The work of the ABA-IPL - through its eight Divisions and over 60 committees- is the foundation and heart of our productive efforts as the largest and most influential organization of intellectual property lawyers in the world.

The Section serves as the ABA voice of intellectual property law within the profession, before policy makers and with the public. We can do our work only with your generous support, participation and leadership.

We welcome and encourage all members to become active in ABA-IPL. Your time, energy, and enthusiasm will make a real difference in our work. You need not wait to get involved – sign up today to be a member of a committee by choosing from this roster of our committees, organized in eight Divisions based on current IP issues and practice areas. You can then become involved in a particular project or become a voting committee member. Remember, ABA and Section membership are a prerequisite for committee and leadership positions.

Call for Leadership Recommendations and Self-Nominations
As Section Chair-Elect, it is my responsibility to recruit and appoint a new class of leaders to serve during the 2010-2011 Association year. ABA-IPL leadership includes sixteen Division Chairs and Division Vice Chairs, Chairs and Vice Chairs of over 60 committees, and more than a dozen liaisons to other ABA entities. Each year approximately half of these leadership positions are open for appointment. I invite and encourage you to seek or nominate Section members as committee or division level appointments for the 2010-2011 year. I am considering applications and nominations for appointments now, so please submit your completed form by January 15, 2010.
