Chapter VII Conclusion

From drafting patent applications and registering trademarks to counseling clients on the best ways to commercialize their inventions and copyrighted works, intellectual property law is a diverse and challenging field. It is a field dedicated to serving people, with special attention being paid to those creative geniuses whose works and inventions constitute the very essence of intellectual property. It is a field that is highly satisfying in that it allows a lawyer to daily combine his or her technical experience and/or art interests with fundamental principles of law. Most of all, it is a field rich in career opportunity, in both placement and advancement. As the field of intellectual property law grows as ideas and information become the competitive marketing tools of our times, so does the need for intellectual property lawyers.

Of necessity, this brochure provided only a brief glimpse into this exciting field of law, with emphasis being placed on the practice of patent law because of its unique educational and registration requirements. Readers interested in additional information on intellectual property law and its specialties are urged to contact the appropriate source listed in the Appendix.
