Practical Tips on Intellectual Property Law

Intellectual property law is a complex practice area requiring a broad array of skills. The Practical Tips program is designed to enhance these skills and enable IP practitioners to handle the many tasks that routinely arise in this increasingly important area of practice. The program features top professionals from the IP field who will relay practical advice on dealing with the "nuts and bolts" of every day IP practice. The Practical Tips program is sponsored by the Young Lawyers Committee of the ABA Section of Intellectual Property Law, in cooperation with the District of Columbia Bar Intellectual Property Law Section.

This particular Practical Tips program is designed in two tracks. One track examines patent practice, focusing on patent application, creative claim drafting, due diligence in business transactions, patent prosecution, discovery and PCT practice. The second track covers copyright issues and trademark enforcement, pre-litigation, discovery, pre-trial and trial issues, and inter partes proceedings at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. It is a "transitional" to intermediate level CLE course. As practical tips will be provided, those with one to twenty years of experience in the patent field will benefit from the program.

Cle Credit

CLE accreditation has been requested for this program from every state with mandatory continuing education requirements for lawyers.
