The Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Interest Group focuses on the rules governing health and other welfare benefit plans with particular emphasis on HIPAA, COBRA, Medicare Secondary Payor rules, and ERISA Title I rules, as well as executive compensation issues. The Interest Group examines the special problems that not-for-profit employers in the health care industry have in providing employee benefits to their employees. In addition, the Interest Group considers the application of ERISA concepts to various forms of managed health care, the impact of state health care initiatives on employer-sponsored health plans, and the ramifications of alternative workforce arrangements on an employer's benefit plans. The Interest Group also participates in all activities of the ABA's Joint Committee of Employee Benefits, including the annual question and answer session with the federal government agencies regulating employee benefits.
Interest Group members are invited to join any of the following subcommittees:
- Federal Regulation Subcommittee
- State Regulation Subcommittee
- Executive Compensation Subcommittee
- Employment Law Subcommittee
You can e-mail Adam Bielawski with your request specifying the subcommittees to which you want to be added.
