Introduction
The teasing and
bullying that takes place between children is frequently written
off as "kids being kids." But too often this type of behavior leads
to more severe harassment and violence. The Section's "Tolerance
Through Education" initiative is designed for lawyers to help strengthen
the diversity that makes our democratic society thrive by promoting
respect among children for those who look different, act different
or share different beliefs.
This online tool kit is designed to provide an overview
of the "Welcome to School: Helping Kids Belong" third-grade
curriculum as well as useful materials for implementing this program
in your community.
