John P. Macy

Who Is GP|Solo Past Chair John Macy?

  • One of six boys raised by a father who coached football and mother who wanted to be surrounded by admiring men.
  • Has never lived outside of Waukesha County, Wisconsin.
  • Commuted to Marquette Law School in a 1967 Mustang convertible that he still owns.
  • Used to be a singer in a rock and roll band.
  • Represents numerous local governmental entities and attends over 150 night meetings a year.
  • Lectures in the area of municipal law on alcohol beverage licensing, open meeting laws, tax assessments, etc.
  • Bar junkie who has held numerous offices in the County Bar, State Bar, and ABA since 1980.
  • Active in numerous civic and political organizations and hosts frequent fund-raisers for the same.
  • Still dating Sandi, whom he met on a blind date in 1985.
  • Owns and maintains a private estate on a large inland lake that, until recently subdivided, contained 22 acres of land, 360 feet of lake frontage, several thousand feet of river frontage, a 37,000 square-foot home, a private island, a guest house, and a party house.
  • Maintains a private collection of wolf art.
  • Cares for an eccentric elderly Aunt.
  • Now lives in the new house with Sandi, two dogs, two parrots, one lovebird, and several koi.
