Who Is GP|Solo Vice Chair James Durant?

• Formally, Air Force Active Duty Lieutenant Colonel James M. Durant III.
• Staff Judge Advocate with the U.S. Air Force.
• Currently stationed at Hill AFB in Utah (tough duty).
• Got his B.A. and J.D. from Howard University in 1987 and 1990, respectively.
• Married to Karen E. Durant of Michigan and has two children, James M. Durant IV and Jonathan T. Durant. (Both are real cuties!)
• Little Jimmy gave his dad the idea for his year as Chair: Helping People.
• Has had numerous Air Force assignments: Norton AFB, California; Dyess AFB, Texas; the Pentagon, Washington, D.C.; Barksdale AFB, Louisiana; Vandenberg AFB, California; and Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Washington, D.C. (notice he never goes anywhere that is cold).
• In 2004 graduated from the Air Force Air War College via Correspondence. (Is that like a fly-over?)
• Participated in Operation Joint Force, HQ Airsouth, NATO, Naples, Italy, and Operation Enduring Freedom, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Sarajevo, Bosnia (okay, that was a cold one, but he left after five months and learned his lesson).
• Has many medals and commendations for his service (ask him about his ribbons next time he’s in uniform).
• Was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in September 2004.
• Takes over as Division Chair in 2009.
