Jeffrey
M. Allen
In April, the Board of Governors
approved the ABA Journal Board of Editors’ nomination
and renominations for ABA Journal Board of Editor vacancies:
Jeffrey M. Allen has been elected to
fill the vacancy of Kenneth P. Nolan who will complete
his second three-year term at the close of the New York
Annual Meeting in August 2008. Mr. Allen first three–year
term will begin in September 2008 through August 2011.
Board Member 2008-2011
Jeff Allen, GP|Solo Leadership Training Committee Chair,
became the latest member of the ABA Journal Editorial
Board. We are pleased with the fact that we have a solo on
the editorial board which will provide greater influence
on the Journal to produce solo and small firm friendly
content. Congratulations to Mr. Allen.
James M. Durant III
The Judge Advocates Association (“JAA”), a national organization of military lawyers, presented James M. Durant III with the Outstanding Career Armed Services Attorney Award for outstanding achievements of career attorneys serving as Judge Advocates. The awards are presented annually at a banquet held in the National Capital Region. Nominees must be 35 years of age, or older, and are evaluated on professional accomplishments, service to community, leadership, service to the legal profession and development of subordinates. Durant is the Vice Chair of the GP|Solo Division.

P. Macy
John P. Macy received
the 2008 Distinguished Member Award from the Waukesha
County Bar Association at their Annual Spring Awards
Dinner.
The Distinguished Member Award is given on occasion
to an individual chosen by representatives of the Waukesha
County Bar Association who has served the Waukesha County
Bar Association with distinction by devoting time and
effort to improve and promote the organization, has promoted
high standards of fairness, justice and ethical conduct
within the legal profession, and has portrayed the Waukesha
County Bar Association and the Waukesha legal community
in a positive light. Macy was recognized for his years
of service to not only the Waukesha County Bar Association
but also the State Bar of Wisconsin and the American
Bar Association. Macy has been active in the Waukesha
County Bar Association for over 25 years serving in a
number of different capacities including President, Membership
Chair, Entertainment Chair and Chair of the Municipal
Law Section.
John P. Macy is the Chair of the GP|Solo Corporate Sponsor
and of the Past Chairs Committees as well as the Immediate
Past Chair of the Executive Committee. Congratulations
to Mr. Macy on receiving this distinguished award.
Keith
B. McLennan
Judge Alexander P. White
The Judge Advocates Association (“JAA”), a national organization of military lawyers, presented Judge Alexander P. White of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois with the Robinson Everette Distinguished Life Service Award for a lifetime of dedicated service to the sacred principles of military jurisprudence and devotion to and furtherance of the mission and objectives of this association and its members with great appreciation. White, who retired as a Colonel from the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, served as a naval aviator, a military lawyer, trial attorney, staff judge advocate and military judge for thirty-two years. He continues to be an active member of the military committees of the American, Illinois, Chicago and Federal Bar Associations. He is a past president of the JAA and a member of the USCAAF.
