We have some great events planned for the Annual Meeting in Hawaii. Exceptional CLE like Solo Day and a historic Hawaiian trial, The Massie Case, as well as great social events like our Awards Dinner make this a meeting you won't want to miss. (And being set in an island paradise doesn't hurt either.)

A crucial question for lawyers who work in government at all levels, business lawyers, disaster relief organizations, regulators, and utilities and other public service providers is whether enough lessons were learned from Hurricane Katrina to assure a more effective response to regional or national catastrophes in the future. This article and teleconference will look at the issues raised by the subcommittee report in seeking to identify key legal and policy issues in responding to the next Katrina--or worse.
To register, call the ABA at 800/285-2221 from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Eastern weekdays, beginning Monday, July 24th or register online by Friday, August 11th at www.abanet.org/cle/connection.html.

| GP-MilitarySez |
GP-MilitarySez is an email forum for lawyers who are in the military (either on active or reserve duty), who are contemplating a career in the military, or who have questions about legal issues involving the military. Recently formed, it is modeled on Solosez, the ABA’s busiest discussion list. As a cyber-water cooler, GP-MilitarySez offers an opportunity for practitioners to pose questions, offer advice, and share information. Discussion group participants determine the topics for discussion.
You need not be a member of the GP|Solo Division or even the ABA to join the list. Just go to GP|Solo’s military home page to sign up. |

| NAF-GP|Solo ADR Preference and Usage Survey Results |
Alternative Dispute Resolution Survey Results Now In!
In late 2005, the GP|Solo Division and the National Arbitration Forum collaborated on a survey designed to discover members’ needs and preferences regarding negotiation, mediation, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution (ADR). The survey results report, entitled ADR Preference and Usage (PDF 160K), is now available online. Thank you to all our members who participated in the survey and to the National Arbitration Forum, a sponsor of the GP|Solo Division, for their continued support.

| Business Law Solo and Small Firm Survey |
The ABA Section of Business Law is considering the formation of a Solo/Small Firm Practitioner Forum to better serve the needs of business lawyers practicing in firms with fewer than ten attorneys. If you practice in any area of business law, the Section would appreciate your feedback on the core elements of this initiative. Please click here to launch a brief survey that should take no more than 5 minutes of your time. Thank you in advance for your participation in this study.
