Forum on Franchising Divisions

CORPORATE COUNSEL DIVISION

MISSION STATEMENT:

The Corporate Counsel Division seeks to serve the Forum and its members by:

  • Educating members of the Forum regarding franchise legal issues from the perspective of corporate counsel.
  • Educating members of the bar regarding franchise legal issues from the perspective of corporate counsel.
  • Educating members of the forum in private practice regarding the special needs of corporate counsel on franchise legal issues.
  • Educating corporate counsel regarding the supervision of franchise legal matters and outside legal services.
  • Expanding membership in the forum by providing a forum to address the unique needs of corporate counsel.
  • Providing corporate counsel with a vehicle for communicating directly with other corporate counsel as well as outside counsel.

LITIGATION AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION DIVISION

MISSION STATEMENT:

Study and presentation of traditional and non-traditional approaches to resolving legal disputes in the franchisor-franchisee relationship; increasing the receptiveness of Forum members to non-traditional approaches to problem solving; and enhancement of the skills of Forum members in applying such approaches.

Forum Committee on Franchising: LITIGATION AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION DIVISION

INTERNATIONAL FRANCHISE AND DISTRIBUTION DIVISION

The IFDI’s mission is to serve the Forum and its members by:

  1. fostering efforts to publish monographs and other materials on international franchising and distribution;
  2. proposing and developing programs and speakers on the subject of international franchising and distribution for Forum publications;
  3. proposing articles on the subject of international franchising and distribution for Forum publications;
  4. expanding membership in the Forum from within and outside the U.S. to address the unique needs of international franchising and distribution practitioners; and
  5. proposing and developing programs and speakers, and otherwise working cooperatively, with the International Bar Association, the ABA Section of International Law and Practice, and other appropriate bar groups.
