Divisions
The Forum's Divisions are designed to put you in touch with fellow practitioners of specific areas of Construction Law. Any member of the Forum on the Construction Industry may join as many divisions as they wish.:
Division 1 Dispute Avoidance & ResolutionAvoidance and reduction of disputes through innovative practice skills and procedures; development and enhancement of dispute resolution procedures, including mediation, arbitration, trials and mini-trials.

Division 2 Contract Documents
To study, develop and improve contract documents for the benefit of the construction industry generally and the protection of the interests of all project participants.

Division 3 Design
To provide practical knowledge concerning the problems and needs, risks and rewards, and duties and liabilities of each of the parties involved in the design process, with particular emphasis on design delivery and implementation, construction project development, and project economics and financing in both the public and private sectors.

Division 4 Project Delivery Systems
To provide a forum for the study and discussion of legal issues related to varying systems of project delivery through education and leadership of attorneys, design and construction professionals and trade associations in the construction industry.

Division 5 Contract Negotiations, Performance & Administration
Study and development of guidelines and suggestions for each of these aspects of a construction project.

Division 6 Employment Law & Labor Relations
To study the various State and Federal employment and collective-bargaining obligations of construction contractors, including wage/hour, discrimination, safety, labor developments affecting the negotiation and legality of collective-bargaining agreement provisions; and to suggest contract provisions to avoid or resolve employment and labor-related disputes.

Division 7 Insurance, Surety & Liens
To provide current and practical information regarding applicable insurance coverage, surety bonds and liens and their respective markets, enforcement, characteristics, developments and trends affecting construction industry participants.

Division 8 International Contracting
To provide education about the global marketplace and its impact on contracting, dispute resolution and finance in the construction industry.

Division 9 Specialty Trade Contractors & Suppliers
To serve those who generally represent subcontractors, specialty trade contractors and suppliers in the construction industry. It strives to educate its members and others on current issues and developments in construction law that arise with respect to these entities.

Division 10 Legislation & Environment
Assembly of information with respect to all pertinent existing legislation dealing with construction and the various members of the construction team; monitor legislative proposals and changes and consider input with respect thereto.

Division 11 Corporate Counsel
Education of Division members on construction law issues unique to and from the perspective of corporate counsel; education of Forum members on construction law issues from the above perspective; and discussions among Division members of issues and needs unique to the corporate counsel practitioner.
