Forum on Communications Law

The more than 2,500 members of the Forum on Communications Law represent a wide variety of specialized legal talent. The principal aim and objective of the Forum are:

  • To encourage discussion of problems relating to legal counseling and representation of the the print media, the telecommunications industry, and the electronic media.
  • To promote the exchange of information among practitioners in the field. To support and promote research, forums, and publications focusing on communications
  • To keep abreast of developments in the law and to discuss evolving issues.
  • To preserve and develop professional competence and integrity in the practice of law.

News & Announcements

Congratulations to the all the participants in the Forum's 2009 First Amendment and Media Law Moot Court Competition, held in February 2009. A report on the Competition can be found HERE.

Congratulations to the following members who were elected to serve on the Forum’s Governing Committee:

Chuck Tobin, Holland & Knight LLP, Washington, D.C. Mr. Tobin is the incoming Chair-elect, one year term commencing August 2009, to be followed by a two year term as Chair of the Forum, commencing August 2010.

The new members of the Governing Committee, whose three-year terms will commence in August 2009, are:
John Borger, Faegre & Benson LLP, Minneapolis, MN;
Lucy Dalglish, Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, Washington, DC;
