ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship Fund

 

The ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship provides students with financial assistance to attend law school. During his term as ABA President, William G. Paul initiated the scholarship to encourage racially and ethnically diverse students to apply to and attend law school.

To date, the ABA’s Legal Opportunity Scholarships have:

  • Benefited more than 160 scholars
  • Paid up to $15,000 per scholar for the 3 years of law school
  • Supported scholars at more than 50 different law schools

2009 ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship Applicants

Thank you for your LOS application submission.  The review process is underway and will continue through the latter part of June 2009.  If you are selected to receive an award, a Reviewer will contact you by phone.  ALL applicants will receive notification via U.S. Mail early July 2009.

For Law Schools

By agreeing to participate, a law school commits to provide either matching funds or a tuition waiver equivalent to the amount provided by the Legal Opportunity Scholarship Fund for any recipient attending their law school. A law school that agrees to participate in the program will provide funds only if an ABA scholarship recipient attends that school. The ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship Fund matching program-->
