Atlanta the ABA House of Delegates approved the Section of
Family Law Recommendation 109. The recommendation was also
co-sponsored by the Section of Individual Rights and Responsibilities.

A nominating committee, chaired
by Section chair-elect Howard Lipsey of Providence, RI, is
accepting nominations for the 2005-2006 Section year. View

the Section’s bylaws during the Annual Meeting in Atlanta.

The Section continues adding
resources specific to military personnel, judges and attorneys
as part of the new web site, including the Judge's Guide &
Checklist to the SCRA, an updated list of volunteer attorneys
who help military personnel with legal issues, checklists
for military personnel about to be deployed, and more. Access
military resources.

Association of
Family and Conciliation Courts Conference
The Association of Family and
Conciliation Courts is accepting proposals for it’s 42nd
Annual Conference, Solving the Family Court Puzzle: Integrating
Research, Policy and Practice. The conference will be held in
Seattle, Washington, May 18-21, 2005 at the Seattle Sheraton.

It is with deep sadness that
we report the death of former Family Law Council Member, Leslie
M. Lucas, who died on September 4, 2004 as the result of an
auto accident. A recent graduate of the Ohio State University
School of Law, Leslie was the ABA Law Student Liaison to the
Section’s Council and had just completed her one-year
term of service on August 31. Leslie’s family has asked
that any memorial contributions be given to the Capital Area
Humane Society, 3015 Scioto Darby Executive Court, Hillard,
Ohio 43026.
