Section Chair testifies to U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee
Phyllis G. Bossin, chair of
the Section of Family Law, testified on behalf of the ABA before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, March 23.  Bossin testified before the committee during its hearings on a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage.  Read her testimony. The ABA has also issued an official statement.  Read the press release.

Working Group on Same-Sex Marriages and Non-Marital Unions to Write White Paper
The Group is ready to begin drafting a white paper about the impact legalizing same-sex marriages will have on various aspects of family law practices nationwide. The paper is scheduled to be presented to the Section’s Council for approval during the Spring CLE Conference in San Juan.
