Prepares to Release White Paper on Same-Sex Marriages and Non-Marital
Unions
The Section's
Working Group on Same-Sex Marriage and Non-Marital Unions, chaired
by former Section Chair Sandra Morgan Little, has completed
its work and will issue its report the week of July 12th.
The report, titled: An analysis of the Law Regarding Same-Sex
Marriage, Civil Unions and Domestic Partnerships, is an
objective review of the legal and policy issues affected by
same-sex marriage, and serves as a guide for those considering
this issue on the local, state and national levels.
Once it is released, the full report and an executive summary
will be available from Section's web site.

Section
to Vote on Proposed Bylaw Changes in Atlanta
At its June 22, 2004 meeting, the Section Council approved changes
to the Section’s bylaws, and members will vote during
Annual Meeting in Atlanta to approve changes. The results of
the voting will be announced at the Section’s second business
meeting on Sunday at 11:00a.m.

Section
to Hold Elections During Annual Meeting
Section members attending the 2004 Annual Meeting in Atlanta
will elect Officers and new Council members. Voting will take
place on Saturday, Aug. 7th from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and
Sunday, Aug. 8th from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Section’s
Hospitality Room at the JW Marriott Hotel, Lenox, 3300 Lenox
Road, Atlanta.
