Section of Family Law: Call for Nominations

Below you'll find information regarding nominations for the ABA Section of Family Law Leadership and Council positions.
Submission deadline is November 1, 2009.

Call for Nominations: 2010-2011 Leaders

The Nominating Committee, chaired by Chair-Elect Debra Lehrmann, Ft. Worth, TX, is accepting nominations for the 2010-2011 section year. Committee members include: Gregg Herman, Vice Chair, Milwaukee, WI; Lori Nelson, Salt Lake City, UT; Anne Marie Jackson, Washington, D.C., and Jonathan Wolfe, Livingston, NJ.

The committee seeks nominations for the following positions. (For description of duties, see Responsibilites below or download all as a .pdf. You should also familiarize yourself with our Reimbursement Policy.)

  • Chair-elect (one-year term)
  • Vice Chair (one-year term)
  • Secretary (one-year term)
  • At-Large Council Representatives (three positions; three-year term)
  • Region I Representative (three-year term) composed of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware
  • Region VI Representative (three-year term) composed of Alaska, Washington, Nevada, California, Hawaii, Oregon

To be considered for nomination:

1. Submit a letter of interest by November 1, 2009. The letter should detail your bar activities (ABA, Section of Family Law, state and local bar) and provide any other information you would like the committee to consider. (Keep in mind that concise information is easier for the Nominating Committee to review.)

2. You will also need to fill out the Nomination Data Form and submit it with your letter of interest.

3. Send your letter and data form (e-mail with Word attachments preferred) to Section Director Paula Nessel, e-mail paulanessel@staff.abanet.org and Chair-elect Debra Lehrmann, e-mail dlehrmann@tarrantcounty.com.

To be considered by the nominating committee, your letter and form must be received by close of business on November 1, 2009.
