Sunil K. Garg. Ph.D., Esq.
Sunil has over 15 years of experience and accomplishments combining skills in environmental law, management, science, technology, and issues management and advocacy. His experience encompasses a broad range of environmental matters including, compliance with and enforcement of Clean Water Act, Superfund, Clean Air Act, RCRA, TSCA or their state counterparts, in several USEPA regions covering a number of States. Sunil has served both as a testifying and a consulting expert in a variety of environmental cases involving, e.g., remediation, indemnification provisions, brownfields development and groundwater contamination. As Vice President, Environmental, Health and Safety at a leading international specialty chemicals manufacturer, he had global responsibility for the development and implementation of EH&S policies, environmental management systems, process safety and risk management planning, legal strategies and issues management, consistent with business needs. Sunil has 10 years of experience in scientific and chemical research and development, manufacturing, marketing, market development and strategic planning.

Currently, Sunil is President of The EcoShelf Group Inc, a consulting firm specializing in bridging the gap between law and science. His primary speaking interests relate to practical issues in implementing environmental law and policy in a operating organization, development of environmental management systems, economic issues in environmental compliance and penalty assessments, and issues concerning identification and use of experts in environmental matters.Sunil's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Stevens Institute of Technology (1978) and a law degree from Rutgers Law School, Newark (1986). He is also registered patent attorney and is admitted to the Bars of New Jersey and New York, and to the Federal District Courts for New Jersey and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Tom’s practice focuses on environmental matters arising in connection with corporate transactions and security filings. Tom assists clients in identifying potential environmental liabilities, and advises clients on various means to allocate and transfer such liabilities in the transactional setting. He also advises public companies on environmental disclosure requirements and has crafted environmental disclosure for periodic filings and public debt and equity offerings. Tom has also counseled clients on environmental issues in bankruptcy, international environmental developments, climate change and renewable energy matters, environmental insurance, and environmental requirements of multilateral development banks and private lenders in international project financings.
