Public Service Opportunities
The Science and Technology Committee is dedicated to connecting our members with non-profit groups to create public service opportunities. Committee members can expand their existing commitment to public service by drawing on their unique understanding of the intersection of science and the law to educate non-profit groups, such as museums, local conservation organizations, citizens' groups, and scientists' unions.
To assist our members in developing relationships with non-profits, the Committee has established this online speakers' bureau, a database of attorneys who are available to speak to non-profit groups on a pro bono basis. Volunteer attorneys have provided biographies with information on their background and areas of expertise. Non-profits can use this database to view volunteer biographies and find attorneys with expertise in their areas of interest. Non-profits may then contact those attorneys directly to arrange a presentation.
We hope that this resource will foster ongoing relationships between Committee members and the non-profit community, from which everyone will benefit. If you have any questions about this program, or require assistance, please contact Kristen Byrnes Floom (kristen.floom@usdoj.gov) or Michael A. Gollin (magollin@venable.com).
