The ABA Annual Meeting will be held in Chicago from July 30- August 4, 2009, with Section activities on July 31- August 2, 2009.

To register for the ABA Annual Meeting, please visit: www.abanet.org/annual/2009. On this page, you will also find information about housing, maps, the President’s Reception, and the special events and tours program. You may register online or print a faxable registration form. To take advantage of the Early Bird Registration discount price of $450* (governance and All-access CLE Badge) or $175* (governance and non-CLE), registration forms must be received by CDS by Friday, May 29, 2009. Any registration forms received after May 29 will be processed at the regular registration fee of $595 or $320.

CLE Programs
The Presidential CLE Centre will be located in the Hyatt Regency Chicago Hotel. The Centre will offer accredited CLE programs covering all areas of practice, giving attendees an opportunity to conveniently earn a year’s worth of CLE credits in one central location.
All participants must be registered for the ABA Annual Meeting to attend CLE programs. Purchasing CLE at the 2009 Annual Meeting is easy! Attendees can register for the meeting and purchase an All-Access CLE Badge for a fee of $450 (increases by $145 after June 5, 2009). This badge can be used for admittance to governance meetings, non-CLE programs and ALL CLE programs at the Annual Meeting, including those in the Presidential CLE Centre and at the satellite hotels. Members whose primary focus at the Annual Meeting is governance, and who may only be able to attend a few CLE programs, can register for the Meeting for a fee of $175*, which includes admittance to all governance and non-CLE programs, and purchase individual program tickets for $75 each. Discounted program tickets will be available to government lawyers and judges for $35. Law Student registrants will be admitted to all CLE programs at no additional charge. Admittance to each CLE program will require one individual program ticket OR the All-Access CLE Badge. Registration with an All-Access CLE Badge for non-ABA members is $875.

Council Meeting Agenda And Report Deadlines
All 08-09 Officers are asked to provide written reports for the Council agenda materials. If you would like something specific added to the Council meeting agenda, please let Claudia Rast and Dana Jonusaitis know by Friday, July 17, 2009.
All 08-09 committee chairs are expected to provide a final report of their committee’s progress by completing the online progress report form by Monday, July 6, 2009. Council Liaison summary reports should be turned in to the Section office by Monday, July 13, 2009.
