About the Section

Welcome From Our Section Chair
Lela P. Love

Welcome to the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution. If you are interested in dispute resolution, we invite you to make our Section your home. You will find we are a diverse group, with disparate views, bound together by our commitment to promoting and improving fair and cost-effective dispute resolution processes.

As part of the American Bar Association, the world’s largest voluntary professional association, the Section of Dispute Resolution, with over 17,000 members, is the world’s largest association of dispute resolution professionals. Through our Section’s conferences, continuing education programs, research activities, information services, eNewsletter, publications, and mediation and arbitration institutes for neutrals and advocates throughout the United States, we deliver useful knowledge and training to our members.

Take some time to explore our Section’s website containing valuable, cutting-edge information you can use in your practice.

If you want to be part of the action, please get involved by joining the Section and then joining a Section committee in an area of interest to you. I think you will find us a congenial, collaborative group.

Thanks for your interest in the work of our Section. If you have ideas for improving the Section, please share them with me by e-mail to love@yu.edu.
