2006 ABA National Conference on the Employment of Lawyers with Disabilities
On May 22-23, 2006 the American Bar Association and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission hosted the first of its kind National Conference on the Employment of Lawyers with Disabilities. As part of its conference follow-up activities the ABA's Commission on Mental and Physical Disability Law published a Conference Report.
This report details the remarks by individual speakers and concludes by making recommendations that are designed to improve the chances of lawyers with disabilities finding and keeping legal positions. If you have any questions about the Conference Report, please contact William Phelan at phelanw@staff.abanet.org.
The Commission on Mental and Physical Disability Law is selling a CD containing an electronic version of the Conference Report and other Conference-related materials.

Currently, the Conference Report has been mailed to members of the ABA leadership, other ABA entities, the thousand biggest law firms, all of the nation's ABA accredited law schools, and some disability-related organizations. If you know of an entity or individual that should receive an electronic copy of the Conference Report, please contact Michael Stratton at cmpdl@abanet.org.
Correction
An error was made in the Conference Report. The bio of Jaclyn Okin Barney, one of the conference speakers, was written as: "Jaclyn Okin Barney, Esq. Staff attorney for the New York Lawyers for the Public Interest. Also teaches a clinical special education course at New York University Law School." This bio should have read: "Jaclyn Okin Barney, Esq. Staff attorney for the New York Lawyers for the Public Interest. Also teaches a clinical special education course at New York Law School." We apologize for the error.
