Getting all of these parties to the table to work out community concerns yet promote smart growth and development is the challenge facing community activists, local governments and developers today. During this panel the participants will learn: * The techniques which will improve the chances of achieving zoning approvals for controversial land uses. * The approach needed to analyze the zoning code, the community objectives, the reasons behind the opposition to a use, and the need to achieve a balance. * How to separate the myth from the facts on controversial land uses. * How to navigate the approval process in hearings and meetings in front of boards and commissions and presenting the most effective case.
