Section of International Law: NGO & Not-for-Profit Organizations Committee

Section of International Law:
NGO & Not-for-Profit Organizations Committee

About the Committee

This committee examines the legal issues affecting such organizations world-wide. The committee functions as a forum for international lawyers to learn of, and comment upon, issues and trends affecting NGOs and NPOs through the use of its committee listserves and electronic newsletters, and through the presentation of programs at seasonal meetings of the Section, and other meetings of the committee, as well as through the preparation of articles for publication in The International Lawyer and the International Law News. The committee examines the status of existing, new and proposed legislation, and recent decisions and developments dealing with NGOs and NPOs, and periodically reviews and comments upon existing or proposed ABA policy dealing with issues of importance to NGOs, NPOs, and the rule of law.
