Members of the Aerospace and Defense Industries Committee of the ABA Section of International Law:

The Aerospace and Defense Industries Committee was formed in response to the evolving nature of the US and foreign industrial bases and recognition that the aerospace and defense industries will play a key role in shaping the international landscape through the coming century. We are privileged to serve as your Co Chairs and Vice Chairs, and we look forward to joining with all of you in carrying forward the International Law Section's mission.

We welcome any suggestions or input on how we can provide a truly useful service to the membership of the Committee.

More About Us

The Committee works on bringing information and opportunities to network and share best practices to its members through the following projects:

• Steering Group: Any Committee members who want to become involved in the planning and preparation of the Committee's work are welcome to join the Steering Group. To join or to request information, please send an e-mail to William Black, Co-Chair at william.black@baersystems.com
• Programs: The Committee plans, prepares, sponsors and presents for CLE and Non-CLE programs for our members and ABA members at large to attend. The programs consist of:
  • Stand Alone Live Programs
  • Live CLE Programs at ABA meetings
  • "Brown Bag" programs with notable speakers on current topics of 1.5 to 2 hours for in-person or telephone
  • Teleconferences with Substantive content on practice issues
• Publications The Committee publishes articles on topics of particular interest to our members and industry practitioners in general. The Committee's publications consist of:
  • Year in Review: The Committee prepares an article on developments in the law affecting the industry annually, which is published in the International Lawyer. Committee members serve both as writers and editors and participation is open to all members of the Committee.
  • Newsletter: The Committee publishes a newsletter for quarterly electronic distribution, focusing on significant events and issues affecting the industry. Committee members serve both as writers and editors and contributions are welcome from all members of the Committee
• Policy: The Committee works with the leadership of the International Law Section on recommendations concerning matters of policy that are of interest to the industry, from preparing comments on pending legislation and recommendations concerning treaty adoption to Rule of Law initiatives concerning activities affecting the industry around the world. Committee members are welcome to participate in this important work of the Committee.
