Section of International Law: International Litigation Committee

Section of International Law:
International Litigation Committee

About the Committee

The International Litigation Committee provides leadership in the development and interpretation of law and legal policy relating to dispute resolution between parties of different countries. In particular, the Committee evaluates the impact of differing laws and procedures in both the public and private sectors in which international parties are engaged in mediation, arbitration, judicial practice and other developing means of dispute resolution. It comments and makes recommendations on proposed treaties and national legislation, as well as initiating proposals to improve and facilitate cross-border practice involving dispute resolution, while also seeking to promote the rule of law and continuing legal education of international law practitioners. As part of its mission, it also coordinates its activities with related committees throughout the American Bar Association and with other professional organizations.
