Human Rights, Just Rule of Law & Role of Lawyers

The ABA Section of International Law, in conjunction with the ABA Center for Human Rights, Association of the Bar of the City of New York, Paris Bar, and Italian Bar, organized a celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights that took place on November 14, 2008 in New York. The day long conference consisted of two roundtable discussions in the morning, a keynote luncheon address, and two additional panels in the afternoon, all composed of leading human rights lawyers, scholars and policymakers. The Paris Bar is organizing a program for the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which took place in Paris on December 10, 1948, on December 6, 2008.
