The UCC Committee provides timely information and training to its members, the wider bar, and the public about recent developments in commercial law, commercial transactions, and commercial practices covered directly by the UCC (e.g., sales and leases of goods, payments, letters of credit, documents of title, investment securities, and secured transactions) as well as those covered tangentially (e.g., bankruptcy, software contracting, suretyship, and international commercial transactions). The Committee does this through programming at the annual meeting of the ABA and the spring meeting of the Business Law Section, regional programming, electronic postings, print publications, and the generation of model agreements. The Committee also assists in the law reform work of the ABA and the Business Law Section, and through them, the efforts of such other organizations as the Uniform Law Commission, the American Law Institute, and the United Nations, as well the state, federal, and territorial governments of the United States.
